Cooper Hydro-Dynamics site launchWe have just finished a fantastic e-commerce website for Andy Cooper owner of Cooper Hydro-Dynamics. The site enables clients to order a growing range of Industrial and Hydraulic products. We have even incorporated into his shop a hose builder which lets visitors build a hose assembly from scratch. Once ordered, it/they can then assembled, built in house and dispatched to you. The site was built with the very powerful off the shelf install of Magento which is an open source program and expands, improves all of the time because of this. Short and Sweet - 3 letter domains .org.ukWe can’t stress how important domains are when creating a business or choosing a domain for your business. Rough rule of thumb. A domain name is the heart of your website - like www.mybusiness.co.uk If you don’t already have a great domain name, you need one, and fast. HTC Touch Pro ArrivalAfter giving a lot of my mobiles some stick and redirecting some old ones to get me by I was due a new one. I’m with T-Mobile and I wanted to extend my contract another 18 months to show willing to gain a new phone as it’s up for renewal in less than 2 months. So after getting cut off 3 times and waiting hours on the phone was told “Sorry sir you’ll have to wait till November 11th” T-Mobile lady said “but I’ll give you money and commit to another 18 months”. “Sorry sir you’ll have to wait till November 11th”, ” And that’s it no effort to try and keep me as a customer?” “No sorry Sir good bye”. I was left stunned, angry, and quite gob smacked at what just happened. And if any management reading this from T-Mobile wants to contact me please do! To cut a long long phone call short they would not budge, lost a customer unnecessary and I ended up getting my PUC (Personal Unblocking Code) from them and transferring my number and business away to VodaFone. I originally went for the Samsung Omnia with VodaFone but by the time we had finished giving details to them unbeknown to us they had sold them all. So a call from them 10 minutes after I’d hung up and expecting the Samsung Omnia this Friday been told sorry sold out choose another phone. My 2nd choice of mobile was a HTC Touch Pro (only just released) and on paper is only as half as good as the Samsung, which has double the memory, better screen, more talk time, standby time, 5 mega pixel instead of 3.2mega pixel etc. My main wants from my new phone was a good camera at least
Not after much was I? Anyways it should be with me in the morning and will report on how it is. If your thinking of getting a work phone that works for you in business, (email etc) just contact me for some advice! The package I went for (not yet available online with the HTC Touch pro,…. I was special) meant I got the phone for FREE and had 700 minutes, 250 texts, unlimited land line calls and internet……..all for just £35 a month! One more thing I need to say. If you want to PUC your number away from T-Mobile and then decide to PUC it back to them you can’t within 1 year. Yep that’s right turning business away, but they must have there reasons.

HULL LINk website to be launched soon!We were asked to produce a user and admin friendly website with a brief and direction from Martin Craven of HULL CVS. We knew he wanted a quick turn around and are just in the final stages of tweaking and adding events to the site. The site enables HULL LINk to easierly add Events and News articles which is also reflected on the home page for ease of access for users. Disclosure requirements and legal requirement on company stationary and websites.Most companies will be aware of this, but since the 1st January 2007 it has been a legal requirement that certain information is made available or displayed on a companies web site and emails. It is now required that Limited Companies are to include on web sites and all emails: This is taken from the DTI web site: LANGUAGES & TRADING DISCLOSURES REGULATIONS 2006 2.1 Do we have to put our registration details on emails? 2.2 My organisation is made up of a number of subsidiary organisations. Do we have to put details of all subsidiaries on all websites? 2.3 What are the consequences of non compliance? 2.4 Do I have to put my VAT numbers and details on documents? 2.5 Do I have to put the details on every page of my website? 2.6 Does all this information have to go on my business card? We have noticed that a lot of companies on the web are not currently complying with this requirement. ( And also need a web redesign ) With emails it is easy enough to add a signature to your mail client like Outlook or Outlook Express and would be automatically added each time you send an email.
